If not from the Midwest, one might not know of Marblehead, OH or the surrounding Lake Erie Islands. But for those that call Ohio, Michigan or Pennsylvania home, chances are likely that they’ve been to the area referred to as “Vacationland.” The attractions spread across the mainland, lakeside frontage and the surrounding islands attract a huge population of tourists and the area also hosts a perfect community for homes that act as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of nearby city life.
Arguably known best for Cedar Pointe Amusement Park, Put-In-Bay and Kelly’s Island, Marblehead plays host to a massive maritime crowd. Ferries and boats travel the never ending chop of Lake Erie to the aforementioned destinations all summer long in search of thrills, good food, and great times. Many who call the area home prefer dock life to roller coasters or bars and spend their time relaxing on their boat or catching a swim in the Bay. The area boasts a healthy fishing culture as well, with Perch and Walleye at the top of the list for Lake Erie’s best catches. Year round, fisherman can be found trying to pull this local catch from the water. On this day, so were we.
