Located on the southern point of the island of Deer Isle, Stonington, ME is a waterfront port and quaint tourist destination that looks like it was plucked right out of a painting.  Once a bustling economy of cod and mackerel fisheries, modern day Stonington sees lobster as the biggest catch.  By the records, in 2011 almost fifteen million pounds of lobster were brought back to port.  With numbers like that, it’s obvious that Stonington is Maine’s biggest working waterfront.  However, the town consistently ranks among the countries top ports as well.
